What I don't get is a ranger is already trained!? No one can teach an already trained ranger anything about bushcraft, anti-poaching, tracking etc.... especially anyone from vetpaw. Laughable!! Reposted from @destinationalpha - Operation: “Scared Of Being Exposed” in full effect! I know it was so hard to admit u worked on hunting reserves @Ryan_vetpaw after months of battling us and denying to all ur donors and blocking them. Also, after u had the description of the Sam Kolder viral YouTube video about VETPAW(KOLD - The War On Poaching), that literally states “VETPAW has just opened up their second sanctuary & have plans to create the largest rhino sanctuary in the world. This is no easy task especially without the funds to make it happen. VETPAW is a donation based organization & need donations to operate and expand.” Ouch! Talking about misleading & then after we have said it for over a month, u finally debunk that nonsense. After hundreds of thousands of donations came in though. The IRS is going to have a field day with you! See what I did there? 😁
Anyway, this picture is VETPAW at its most embarrassing & desperate state. U have @streetwiseprofessor on the right, playing the teacher, Howard Knott in the back right, not playing but actually is the owner of the GKS Hunting reserve where u operate on & house your headquarters. The same place we have shown pictures of sport killed zebra, hippo, leopards and even giraffe. Everyone could see now but ur cowardice of being exposed caused Howard to take down his entire website when we started posting about it. Anyway, on the left, u have anyone but rangers playing Rangers. Those are most likely Howard’s fence walkers. Then note the photographer on the far left, to make sure and get the best shot so u can play all your followers for fools. You post about working with Rangers, negative. We know 100%. U post about working with the @sapoliceservice_za. Negative. We have proof there as well. They have been to the GKS a few times & that last post picture was just from one of those times.

@curlydavies making his way off this ridge mid morning, looking for a walkable route down into the basin, then climbed up out of the basin up the ridge behind us. Good few hours in the steep scrub that morning with 20 odd kg packs=a bloody good day.

To @Amanda_Caldwell, hunting is not defined by an animal downed; rather, it is the purity of the challenge and the connection created with nature. Hunting is about sustenance, survival—and ultimately—life. Amanda is a real estate agent and bowhunter from Bozeman, Montana. She has been blessed to harvest elk, deer, antelope, bear, and small game throughout her life. In addition to time spent hunting on horseback in the mountains, Amanda’s life’s work revolves around being a positive role model in her home, church, and community. She is a firm believer in promoting wildlife preservation and protecting our natural resources.

Black rhinoceroses need your help! Our Stop the Hunt campaign aims to end canned hunting and trophy hunting in the United States and across the world. If you go to aldf.org/stopthehunt (link in bio) right now, you can tell the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service NOT to grant a permit to a person who wants to import a sport-hunted trophy of a black rhinoceros. Join us in telling the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service that canned hunting is cruelty. #stopthehunt

@NikkiBoxler grew up on a large dairy farm in Western New York. Nikki’s dad introduced her to hunting and fishing when she was young, and Nikki quickly embraced the lifestyle because of the camaraderie and bonds she experienced among fellow hunters. It is this setting that helped to shape her love for the outdoors—a passion that drives her to spend as much time hunting and fishing as possible. Having worked in male-dominated industries her entire life, Nikki now strives to empower and motivate other women to break stereotypes and chase their dreams. She learned firsthand how being active in the great outdoors can change a person’s entire outlook on life.

READY TO RACE!! Too bad it’s not till May 19th 😬 I feel like the next three months are going to go by soooo slowly. Plenty to do between now and then, BUT, I’m so impatient because being in the car is just the best 😍 #BeenTooLong

I am 100% for the conservative of Wildlife and Wildlands. So to read this article from a "left" wing website is exciting for me. The banning of trophy hunting in areas such as Africa would be catastrophic for the communities. As a matter of human well being and as a matter of economics. As for the well being of the people of Africa. Trophy hunting creates jobs. There are MANY trophy hunting guide services in Africa. They hire alot of tribesman to guide rich trophy hunters. Those trophy hunters spend upwards of $50,000 on a single elephant. And as much as $25,000 for a lion. We as Americans look at that in disgust because we see a beautiful creature. We don't have to live with lions and temperamental elephants in our backyard like they do. A decent majority of that money goes to the local tribes, and all of the meat must stay in Africa, so the tribes are well fed as well as paid. Trophy hunting is very closely managed. It's not trophy hunting that is harming the species or the habitat. It's poaching. Without the purchase of the license and tags for hunting, they couldn't afford to pay anyone to protect the animals that are being poached. It goes full circle. However, hunting NEEDS to remain a part of Africa's existence for the opportunity to increase the population of the threated endangered species.

Scientific Name - Hippotragus niger niger
Average Mass - 230kg
Average Shoulder Height - 135cm
Sable males and females have horns, but the males horns are longer and have more of a curve. The mature males also tends to have a jet black cape, as opposed to the females and young males that have a browner colour cape. Shelter and water are important for Sable, they enjoy open woodlands, with some cover. Sable are a remarkably tough and resilient animal requiring very accurate shot placement. The deep profile of the forequarters coupled with the mane makes shot placement misleading.
Dominant males are usually found in the rear of the herd. Sable are known to defend themselves aggresively when cornered, so when approaching a downed animal it needs to be done with caution.
Also early morning and late afternoon grazers.
Recommended Calibre is 30.06 or .300 magnum.
