Today I give thanks for this wonderful life and #throwbackthursday.
Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be wonderful. In fact, sometimes there are perfectly awful things. Case in point: please take note of Doug‘s gym shorts from junior high. Yes, our junior high’s colors were gold and brown. Bless our hearts. Also we had horribly thick cotton reversible T-shirts—you guessed it—gold and brown for team play—the best that the early 80s had to offer. But my favorite part of PE in the early 80s was height and weight checks, and scoliosis checks. Oh, wait, I am also remembering the humiliation of showers with a bunch of other stinky, pubescent, insecure 12 through 15-year-old girls. That was pretty stellar. 😳😱 Seriously though, as I look through my pictures I realize that this IS a wonderful life, and there’s no woman more blessed than I with family and friends.

I’m so fortunate!
... that I don’t have a spare ~1mio € lying around, because I still haven’t figured out which one of the 2 I’d buy. 💸
#tb Not even seeing them side by side at @carsandcoffeeitaly in 2018 helped me make that decision... 😅
German engineering or Italian flamboyance? V8 or V10? 🤔
Well, at least I’m sure of 2 things:
1) I’d buy a car over a house, because you can sleep in a car, but can’t go racing with a house. 💯
2) I’ll have to earn ~2 mio € to buy both #problemsolved 😎

If there is only one lesson you learn this entire year, it’s this: You are absolutely the most important person in your entire universe.
Your entire life is lived through your eyes. Your interactions with the world and those around you, your thoughts and how you interpret events, relationships, actions, and words. You might just be another person when it comes to the grand scheme of things, but when it comes to your understanding of reality, you are the only thing that matters.
And because of that, your reality depends on how much you love and take care of you.
Your relationship with yourself is the most defining factor in shaping the kind of life you live.
The less you love yourself, listen to yourself, and understand yourself, the more confused, angry, and frustrating your reality will be.
But when you begin and continue to love yourself more, the more everything you see, everything you do, and everyone you interact with, starts to become a little bit better in every way possible.
But self-love isn’t easy. As they say: you are your own biggest critic.
We’re programmed to have doubts of self-loathing, and for many of us, these phases of self-hatred can turn into our entire lives. It’s when we spend more time hating ourselves than we do loving ourselves that we adopt a more negative disposition of the world.
So continue to love yourself first. It might not be the easiest thing in the world to do, but it’s definitely the most important.

This antique snow plane can be found at the Nipawin & District Living Forestry Museum. It is normally ran in the winter time at the Annual Winter Festival! Have you ever had a ride in the snow plane?

Oh look - I remembered to do a #ThrowbackThursday this week. YAY!
As I have been lately, I am taking you back to my visit to BC in September. This was the LAST day, about one hour before I had to catch the ferry back to Vancouver for the COO Alliance event. @johnrvoss bought his first gun (sorry but I forget what it’s called), and I expressed interest in going to the range to shoot it. It’s not my first time shooting a gun, but let me tell you - it has a LOT of kick. See the recoil on my shot? Just. Wow.
Funny enough, one of the gentlemen working at the range actually came over to speak to me later about air soft guns, and shooting with sugar pellets. Said he “could still take down a boar” but since he is older in years, and his shoulder can’t handle all that action - he had switched to air a while back and is so happy.
I never considered the fact that I might actually want to hunt for real some day. But, John has been teaching me/showing me his journey…and although at this point I am still not ready, things could change.
Have you ever hunted? And actually killed, skinned and eaten your kill?
