Another one off the list of todo's - Taaza Thindi at Jayanagar. Ever since I came to the city , countless folk have mentioned this places , I've now realised the countless number of times I've overshot, passed by on parallel roads .
Absolute no nonsense eatery , one page menu , loyal customers , next level hygiene , optimum qty of food and rock bottom prices . Dosas smelling of butter , soft idlis , kick in the nuts strong cothas coffee and a satisfied soul..... They have another outlet in Kathrigupe which looks slightly bigger than Jayanagar . there is so much to learn from them - hygiene , cost effectiveness , discipline , value for money portions . It's like a melting pot for all walks of people ....

Jayanagar T block
One of the more celebrated places in Bangalore for a dosa, Taaza Thindi is not only known for its taste, but also for its exemplary kitchen standards. Much like a well-oiled machine, the efficiency, and hygiene of Taaza Thindi cannot be understated. It boasts a minimalistic menu that consists of dosa, vada, idli, 3 types of baths, and hot beverage options. Having lived in Bangalore for a while, this place had been on my to-do list for a long time now. It's a tableless food joint, with swift self service and unbelievably low prices. I had the dosa and vada. The dosa served with thick coconut chutney is just the right size, and resembles the Vidyarthi Bhavan style of dosa. Crisp and hot with a hint of ghee, it is by far one of the best dosas I have had, which was evident by the second serving I ordered immediately after. The vada served along with thinned out coconut chutney was crisp and not at all oily. It's not often that a place lives exactly up to the hype, but the fact that there were around 15 people already in queue before the place even opened, I knew I was in good hands.
Price- INR 25 for dosa, INR 10 for vada, idli, coffee and tea. INR 15 for kesari and khara bath. Rest of the items are similarly priced.

This Saturday morning was all about trying out breakfast at multiple places in South Bangalore and our favourite of all was “Taaza Thindi”! Taaza Thindi is worth all the hype it gained in past few years, we woke up early in the morning to ensure that we reach Taaza Thindi by 7:00 am and to our surprise it was already crowded!! Do plan to arrive earlier than 7 am to avoid long queues!
With just 7 dishes in the menu, we almost tried all of them starting from mouth watering soft idlis, vada, kesari bhath, khara bhatha, masala dosa and of course filter coffee! Can you imagine that the Masala Dosa costs only Rs 25 , and idli/ vada costing only Rs 10 without any sacrifice on the hygiene part, it is so unbelievably cheap and yumm!! Also, to add on to the list, most of the supply chain at Taaza Thindi is automated ensuring consistent taste every time you have, they have dishwashers to ensure that cleanliness of the dishes and temperature controlled fermentation containers to get that perfect taste in their idlis and dosas!! Must recommend place to have breakfast in Banaglore!

2018 has been one 🤷♀️ year.
With many ups and downs it definitely marks some important events.
This is me being very grateful for it and reflecting back on some of them.
Leggo #2018roundup here we go!
Its also another reason to post all the pictures I couldn’t due to unforeseen (laziness) reasons 🤭

In one sentence - Soul Happy!
The food is delicious and absolutely VFM.
They don't give plastic in any form - for takeaways, you need to carry your own boxes. The cleanliness is on point, well organised and managed.

I’ll be India until February 7th and I have a lot of pictures of the great food. My first breakfast in Bangalore, India, at Taaza Thindi was a great introduction to South Indian staples like dosa, vada, and idlis. And filter coffee. My patient host has been teaching me the names of everything (even though I keep forgetting) and I am grateful. || Picture 1 - Vada (a savory doughnut-like breakfast item that soaks up chutney and various sauces well) & idli (a soft and fluffy white savory rice cake that also soaks up sauces well). Picture 2 - Masala dosa (a dosa is a type of South Indian pancake made from fermented batter and is wonderful for wiping up various chutneys or sauces. This dosa is filled with potato masala, which adds some heft to the meal). Picture 3 - Kesari baat - a sweet Indian treat. Picture 4 - South Indian filter coffee - Coffee is much more popular in the south than the north and a cup of filter coffee can be found all over Bangalore. If sugar is added, it can be quite sweet but it’s stronger than espresso when left on its own. Usually drank in small cups like this and held at the top and bottom by my hands bc it’s so freaking hot. I had three because it was so good. || 📍: Taaza Thindi (Bangalore, India) || 📸: iPhone 8 Plus
