Get your best headphones out on this woeful Tuesday and prepare to be warped to a dusty, misty land of aural psychedelia.
Bees Made Honey In The Vein Tree, a four-piece from Stuggart, Germany, created quite the buzz with their debut album, Medicine, back in 2017.
Comparable to the likes of Colour Haze, the four-piece have created a psychedelic-doom debut featuring some stretched-out tunes, experimenting with highs and lows as spacious as their band name.
With peaceful guitar work that progressively folds into crunchy, fuzz-laden doom, tanaciously striding between psych, doom and post-rock. Fluidity is the highlight here, with rythmics that never seem out of place and forever more fused.
This intricate mesh of tranquil melodies, echoing vocals and fuzzy chemistry creates a diverse yet comfortable listening experience that's sure to drag you through the dirt, then cascade you between universes, reveling you in everything they have to offer.
The bass is laid on thick and droning, and percussions are temperamental, sweeping between tempos as required, creating that low, lumbering backdrop.
The members are Simon Weinreich on guitar and vox, Lucas Dreher on guitars, Christopher Popowitsch on bass and Marc Dreher on drums and vox.
Bees Made Honey In The Vein Tree are sure to resonate for years to come, becoming as memorable as Colour Haze, Samsara Blues Experiment and Sungrazer for their unique and brave influence on the heavy-psych scene.
Their new album Grandmother releases on Feb 28th 2019.
