I was always fascinated by the dark sky & stars in general all around us even before I picked my first ever digital camera. At that time I didnt even know that is possible to photograph the stars. Finally this summer I made it to the darkest part of Slovakia and I had a chance to really test my skills. For the last 2 years Im more aware about the light pollution and the impact of it on the nature and of course on us. I felt really good that in my country there is a dark sky park. The only thing I needed to do is to drive accross my country from west to east and a pinch of luck with the weather, to have at least few hours of cloudless night skies.
This is my favourite milkyway shot from our trip to Poloniny NP. After a rainy day, fog rolled over the hills, everything turned into a misterious night scene and we where in a middle of nothing surrounded by hills. It is so amazing how a little bit of mist floating around the ground and hills can make a stunning atmosphere. So I decided that I going to try to shoot this tree I found few days before. Sometimes everything just fits together, than I know that Im on the right place in the right time. This photo is the perfect example of that. After I finished the shooting cloud cover rolled over and the milkyway was gone for that night.
Its a stacked photo of 12 photos - 6 for the foreground & 6 photos for the milkyway. The tree is illuminated with my headlamp and my camera was in interval time mode.

Bojnický zámok. Najkrajší zámok na Slovensku. Pôvodne to bol drevený hrad. Základy mal v gotickom slohu a prebudovaný bol postupne do renesančného, barokového aj romantického slohu.
Použitý ZERO ND filter a ZERO Reverse ND4.
