It’s not complete but almost! One of our finals for PSID was to create and set up a Filipino Christmas Merienda table-scape. I had almost everything already. 😍🇵🇭 Leaves foraged from an empty lot near my house, wooden plates and platters from Dapitan and Baguio, banana leaves from palengke, abaca fabric from my Suki in Marikina dry market, fake leaves and red table cloth from @allhomeofficial Libis (having a sale na!) and capiz plates/napkin rings/coasters from Filipiñana section of @robinsonsgalleriaofficial. The other day we were passing through a Marikina neighborhood and my hubby noticed a house with a sign that was advertising Cebu style longanisa (filipino spanish sausage). We decided to go check it out since we haven't yet found good longanisa that we liked ever since we've moved to the Philippines. - As we were inquiring about their longanisa, we asked if we could sample it first, and so they invited us into their home while they cooked up some pieces. As we waited, we hung out with the owner (pictured) and he let us watch how he encases the tasty Filipino sausages. He mentioned that he and his family were from Cebu and that he's been making longanisa since he was 8 years old. The majority of their clients were mostly from Manila so they ended up moving here to be closer to the demand. And they make and sell wholesale straight from their house. - It was random how we found this place but it ended up being such a nice humbling experience. We sampled the longanisa and it tasted sobrang sarap (very delicious)! Probably a game changer for me. When we first moved to the Philippines, we learned that not all longanisa are created equal. There's so many different kinds with different flavors and textures, and they also originate from different regions. So the ones we were used to in America were not like the ones here. We've tried different kinds but so far this has been the best. And this is locally made! Can't get anymore authentic Filipino than this! Longanisa suki (customer) por eber! 🙌 . .

Didn't know about the Pasig's RAVE Rainforest Park until Yñigo's field trip 🤗 I'm honestly not a big fan of parks in Manila cause of its lack of development. Like I find it sad sometimes that the government cant set up good parks... or maybe it's in our lack of not knowing how to take better care of it? But whatever it is, I still appreciate the effort though 👌🏻 There's actually a lot of things little kids would love here... though I wish it was more maintained. I can’t have my own dog because my family is allergic, so the next best thing is going to @barkinblends. I love cuddling with their resident doggos who are properly cared for. They are well-fed, they have updated shots, are sufficiently trained, and most of all, they are not abused by their staff. I never experienced any catcalling in this cafe, and I always feel safe and happy whenever I am here. I understand that some people are averse to the idea of pet cafes, but for people like me, this is how I get to interact with dogs without the responsibilities that caring for them entails.
