'POSITIVE THINKING EVOKES MORE ENERGY, MORE INITIATIVE, MORE HAPPINESS.' --Unknown⠀
I was seriously struggling with my motivation a few weeks ago. It's been a busy season in our household, and while I'm usually really organized and motivated and good at prioritizing and staying on top of things, I was feeling extremely burnt out. Even the smallest tasks felt overwhelming to me, and I was in dire need of some time to just...do nothing.⠀
But with summer vacation officially underway, a break just wasn't in the cards, and I needed a way to do all the things in the least amount of time possible so I can be totally present for my daughter this week. ⠀
I broke out all of my best productivity tips, and eventually realized what I really needed was to figure out how to boost my energy. ⠀
I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one feeling run down after an extra long winter and wanted to share a few things that helped me make it to the finish line last week so I can (finally) enjoy a little down time with my favorite gal.⠀
✔️EXERCISE. Yes, I know it's annoying, but moving your body for at least 30 minutes can make a huge difference in your energy levels and mood. When life gets busy, I find it especially important to prioritize my workouts. ⠀
✔️VITAMIN D. One of my biggest challenges lately is that we've been experiencing unusual amounts of rain, which makes me want to hibernate. Vitamin D is known to boost our moods and help us focus, and since I haven't really been able to get it in its natural form (sunlight), I started taking vitamins and it's made a huge difference.⠀
✔️HYDRATION AND DIET. When I'm stressed and tired, my body craves crappy food, which just perpetuates the cycle, but when I load up on veggies, healthy fats, and lean protein and drink at least half my weight in water each day, my energy SOARS.⠀
✔️AVOID ALCOHOL. As much as it pains me to admit it, I am much more productive and better able to handle stress when I don't drink. Does that mean I'm currently on the wagon? NO! But I make it a point not to drink the night before a big day, and limit my intake as much as possible during busy times.⠀

I used to think 30 was old (😂) probably like most of us, but what I didn’t realize was that all throughout my years leading to my 30s, I wasn’t fully being who I was meant to be. There’s infinite amounts to learn still, but I’m at a place now where I’m starting to not feel bad about who I am. I like certain things. I like them a certain type of way. I like nice things, not only because they’re nice, but it’s how they make you FEEL ✨
Jeremy and I talk about this exact thing- People say that buying red bottom shoes is stupid or materialistic, sure that’s okay. But the way that those shoes make me FEEL is worth it 100% Your confidence is boosted, you walk a little taller, and you feel like you can do almost anything. Maybe for you it’s not a pair of Louboutins, that’s not everyone’s thing. It can be literally ANYTHING that makes you feel like you can take on the world while being the best version of yourself 🙌🏻 That’s the good stuff right there. What is it for you that lights you up and makes you feel like a total bad a$$ woman?! TELL ME! 👇🏼

When you don't have professional photos for your feed....
Take a bunch of selfies! 🤳🏻
Your phone probably takes decent photos if it's about 3 years old or newer. When it was time for me to upgrade I chose the one with the best camera!
📸 SELFIE TIPS:
✨Get some nice lighting happening!
Take photos during the day in indirect light (like a little plant 🌱). I usually go *close* to a window but not directly in front of it where the sun is directly on my face!
✨Pick a day where you feel good!
Spend a little extra time getting ready, or take advantage of days when your hair falls just right etc. 😂 Change your shirt a couple times and you have TONS of content to work with.
✨Find/try good angles!
You may not know what angles could or do work for you, so try it out! Take a ton of photos!
Bonus tip: I personally prefer minimal editing most of the time. You can apply filters/presets to make your photos cohesive.
All I usually do is turn the brightness up and sharpen a little bit! See what works for you in your feed! Don't overcomplicate it. 💖

My kids are taking swimming lessons this week. The first day they were fine getting in the water. A little hesitant but mostly fine. Then they got dunked underwater 🙃 .... and the tears came. Then they realized they were fine, got their bearings, and continued on with their lessons.
BUT the next day... 🤯 they would NOT get in the water. Like death-grip-screaming-bloody-murder-sprinting-away-from-the-pool status. I tried reminding them over and over that the part they don’t like is so small in comparison to the rest of the lesson and that this is so important to know how to swim and be safe in the water. Even Hudson, who already knows the basics and is a little fish in the water is still resistant to the uncomfortable part necessary to get better. “Mom I know enough already.” 😑
This is how we operate. There’s so much opportunity for growth out there. So many things that are good for us or even just things we really WANT to do but we focus on the small part of it that is uncomfortable. We let it get under our skin and freak us out. We talk ourselves out of meeting new people because the initial interaction might be a little awkward. We don’t take the class because we are scared of not knowing anyone and sitting alone the first day. We focus on the website we have to build in order to start our business...”it’s too hard” so we just don’t do it. It’s been said a few different ways but ultimately everything you want is found through fear and discomfort. Don’t let the temporary fear keep you from creating a much greater joy. #feelthefearanddoitanyway #lifecoach

When @PamPerry was interviewing me, we discussed the difference between being humble and egotistical.⠀
Some people will choose to not acknowledge their accomplishments because they were taught to be humble. I get that and struggled with that too for a while. ⠀
When you own a business that is focused on service, on helping people, the only way that you can do that is if they know you exist! The more visible you are, the more your 😍🤩best client can find you. ⠀
When you underplay your skills and value to yourself, you project that outwardly too. If being visible is a challenge for you, start with openly acknowledging your greatness to yourself!⠀
@w.t.hamilton recently did a short video reminding us to tell ourselves “you are awesome! You are doing a good job!” ⠀
