Who are your adventure buddies?
I am so lucky to have so many awesome ladies in my life who I can adventure with (like my dear friend @sarah.leilani1 pictures here in the Crazies). A lot of the times, I fly sola. But when I’m craving company, I’ve got plenty of yes-women who are always up for some outdoor activities.
There’s something so special about spending time outdoors with strong, bad-ass, thoughtful, supportive, talented ladies. It’s an unmatched experience that I wouldn’t trade for the world.
That’s why I was so excited when I first heard of the @backcountrysquatters . Also known as the Women’s Outdoor Adventure Club — they’re a club at MSU that promotes female involvement and activity in the outdoor world. It’s so important to build each other up and remember that we women belong in these spaces as much as anyone else, and we women can thrive in these activities as much as anyone else.
If you’re around MSU tonight, I’ll be at a networking event that this club is hosting. Come learn from women who have jobs in the outdoor world or are running businesses in their communities. It sounds like a great time and I’m honored for the invite!

The result of my old man’s public land solo hunt in South Dakota this year. No grip n’ grin, because there was nobody else around to take the photo for him. Stay driven, stay hungry, stay young.

Some of us recover from red-eye flights better than others. Not that having two kids in my lap didn’t totally enhance my ability to sleep on a plane. I predict they’ll be adorable train wrecks in about five hours.

@coyotethunder, writer and illustrator of #californiafieldatlas:
My life is as a mapmaker of California’s living world, participating in a greater responsibility of geographic literacy. I help facilitate the debate in the tangled interface of private and public land, whether it serves or hinder our legacy and the natural health of the state, and thereby ourselves.
The future resiliency and existence of our human society depend on not only defending biodiversity from habitat loss, but also restoring vast tracts of lost habitat in the form of wildlife connectivity bridges between currently protected areas.
Follow along as I share my art and thoughts about our incredible wild landscapes, especially those close to my heart in California.

I love the season of cold weather and empty rivers. I tend to steer clear of tail waters during the summer because their usually crowded with fisherman. Winters the time I get the river (mostly) to myself. 😉❄️ pc: @taewestcott

When you’re representing Texas BHA at YETI’s 10 anniversary party, you tend to attract some pretty cool people.

Had a great time catching some Steelhead in my old Erie, PA stompin grounds earlier this week. If we don't fight to keep access to these beautiful public waterways, they could be lost for future generations to enjoy. Still happy to see I can catch fish on flies I tied myself!

You know when you’re tired and overwhelmed, and you just want to hop in the car and drive somewhere amazing? Well that’s weird because I never feel that way! 😜
A couple weekends ago we got away and drove the backroads of Arizona for two days. It was magical.
