‘The Ganges front is the supreme showplace of Benares. Its tall bluffs are solidly caked from water to summit, along a stretch of three miles, with a splendid jumble of massive and picturesque masonry, a bewildering and beautiful confusion of stone platforms, temples, stair flights, rich and stately palaces....soaring stairways, sculptured temples, majestic palaces, softening away into the distances; and there is movement, motion, human life everywhere, and brilliantly costumed - streaming in rainbows up and down the lofty stairways, and massed in metaphorical gardens on on the mile of great platforms at the river's edge’ Mark Twain .

Travel, explore, learn and educate others for I believe the day we let go of our own limitations will be when we will truly be free. 📸
29th May 2019,
Taking my own sweet time exploring the breathtaking palace of Mysore, I couldn't help but fawn over the intricate work that went into constructing every little inch of this historic monument. While the humongous crowd of people visiting this marvel pushed along the line that went through the hallways showcasing everything that this palace had to offer, I stayed back and sat down with my camera and just let it soak in. I felt every texture, admired every art and tile work for I believe one shouldn't just travel to see but to feel, learn and experience.
As I sat there on the cold tiled floor of one of many huge banquet halls, I wondered how this palace which was only built over a century ago continued to rise to its glory although being built during the reign of the British Empire on India at the peak time of our war of independence. Even though the Mysore empire stayed separated from the rest of the country and its adversities during the period still being under the rule of the 24th king of Mysore, I wondered how the construction of this palace was percieved back in the day when the rest of the country was chained to the ground struggling to break free and blossom. Although being an absolute architectural marvel, the whole idea of this palace frankly seemed a bit too insolent at the time. That's when I realized that not every beautiful spec from history has an equally beautiful story or intend to it.
But here we are, almost 70+ years post independence. A well developing nation on paper still at war, not with someone else but ourselves with clashing beliefs and historic predefined castes that still separate the nation. We need to step back for once, go out and experience what this country's history truly stood up for.

(3/3) - To be viewed in full brightness.
While Bagheera ran towards the dense jungles of Madhya Pradesh, he never once looked back. He ran like wild fire, tasting the air of freedom. But if he had looked back once, to take one last look at the broken lock that freed him, he would have stopped. He would have understood that Oodeypoore may have people who wanted him in a cage, but it also had people who are humane for what else could build up a city like this. If Bagheera had looked back, Udaipur would have been known for him instead of Octopussy. And while Bagheera went away into time, he'd have said to Udaipur, 'Bhagheera loved thee". The End. ( To view the panaroma, check the feed :) )

Dil ka ek tukda zaroor purani dilli mein basta hai,
Kya batayein ki is dil ke kitne tukde kiye hain humne,
Kuch shehro, kuch logon, kuch khidkiyon,
toh kuch un galiyon or nukkadon ke naam.
Tukdon main hain dil mera ye hai mujhe pata,
Ek tukda toh zaroor purani dilli mein basta hai. - Shreshi
