I have had the privilege of giving company to The Head of State who was having probably the best known scotch to the Mankind - "The Last Drop". Yes, he was hosting the evening at one of the finest bars of the country . But given a chance, I would want my last drop of whisky to come to me at this lounge in Leh with my friends around. Saboo Resorts in Leh is simple enough to make you feel at home and charming enough to mesmerize you with an out of the world stay. The man behind and in the front, is George Odpal who easily could teach a lesson or two to best hoteliers or hospitality managers of the world. #leh #travel #india #mountains #hills #travellerforlife #adventure #bar #wateringhole #music @rachelnilza @george_ladakh @mathurkanupriya

Crater Lake Century Ride! 8000ft of climbing & this beautiful view to admire....absolutely amazing!! We did this ride for the first time 6 years ago on my husbands birthday. I had just had my 4th child 3 months prior, I carried my breast pump with me so I could pump at the rest stops 😂 & it was my first Century Ride ever !! I wasn't prepared at all, had only ridden 30 miles prior to the ride & I was suffering big time! At mile 60 after climbing 5300ft, I almost asked the SAG vans to take me back down because I was done! BUT...I didnt & I finished my first century ride, even if I had to sit on ice the whole ride home😂. Now 6 years later on my husbands birthday again 😄, 25+ century rides later, we are back doing this ride again. This time I was a lot stronger, more comfortable on my bike & more prepared, BUT that doesnt mean it was any easier. In the first 25 miles of the ascent we climbed 3200ft & the hills just kept coming till about mile 80. Mile 75 is the last BIG hill & as I was going up that hill suffering, I thought back to 6 years ago & was in awe that I actually finished this ride being 3 months post partum. I began to question if I was truly stronger then or now, cause this is one tough ride if you are not prepared for it. Either way I have learned one thing & that is we all have to start somewhere. It isn't always pretty, nor what we may have envisioned but we CAN push through, we CAN make it to the end & we CAN do something we didn't think we could do. My first century ride led me to do the full distance Ironmans. After this ride, I knew I could get through a 112 mile ride in an Ironman & so I began to pursue my goal. Now I have completed 4. I am grateful for humble beginnings that teach me that my body can do so much more than I ever thought possible, even if it is 3 months after my 4th child. We just have to #believe ....
