-The day I got lost-
I got lost!
After half n hour of walking in the wrong direction and having realised that, I decided to walk back. Trust me , it was the hardest decision to make ! It meant waste of efforts and energy->waste of a day->Extra cost.
I wasn’t ready for it , but was left with no choice .
And so ,started to walk back towards Dingboche .
Within 2 min I realised I was again walking in the wrong direction.
It happened to be the first time in my life that I regretted going Solo.
kept screaming . For help.
Realised it was about 2 pm.. which meant in 2-3 hours max, it would start to get dark. And cold.
And that’s when I lost my calm. And I finally cried . As loud as possible .
One of the most helpless situations I have been in.
Scary as f**k.
No water - no food - no human
Crying at #5000m altitude made me a little breathless too.
I had even thought in my mind that someone in the morning will find my unconscious body lying on the trail and I would make the headlines of Nepal times .India too.
After 20- 30 minute of losing hope , I heard something. Probably a wrapper of biscuit and Screamed for help again . A sherpa came out of the mist. ( as filmy as it may sound , it’s true)
As soon as he got visible to my eyes , I burst into tears . Relieved this time .
I haven’t been THAT happy ever.
He looked at me all confused . Apparently he neither understood Hindi nor English. So I couldn’t even explain it to him the reason I was crying . Still kept blabbering .
Seeing me cry , He offered me a pack of coconut biscuit and some water and I followed him ahead .
After an hour of walking , there was this rest house ( Picture 1) and I was reunited with the Vietnam group and Juah .( I guess they were waiting for me. At least I hoped they were :p)
Thanked the Sherpa from the bottom of my heart and paid him for the biscuit and water.
These two pictures will always remind me of that day.. The day I regretted going #solo.

The real adventure begins and ends in Lukla for most of EBC trekkers. Rated as the most dangerous airport in the world by the History Channel in 2010, Tenzing- Hillary airport sits at 2,845 m above sea level and planes take off just before seemingly falling off a cliff.🛬 #ebc #airportstories #extremeairport
