As most artists and creative minds will recognize your creative path is always changing. At the moment I do a lot of black and white drawings, but I love to do color aswell. This is an older artwork of mine and it is a more artistic/mythical version of a crow. As soon as I can I want to create some colored artworks both of animals and nature in a more mythical style. I just love gargoyles and mythical animals. ⛰ Anyway have a nice weekend everyone 😊✌ #weekend #veganart

Although I love playing with paint, I have an ongoing not-so-secret love affair with resin. I use high quality UV-resistant resin, inks and pigments. Someone called resin "liquid gold" because it's... expensive. And it takes quite some practice to understand how it reacts.
I'd love to share a bit of how my journey started... I remember a night when I lived in Lombok, where I lay awake. I was daydreaming about making resin art for the 1000th time, and worried about how much money I'd have to spend. I had been working at the local shaper's for 1.5 years and had become obsessed with resin through learning surfboard glassing. That night I just decided to do it. I didn't sleep at all, I was so excited. For some reason there was this raging adrenaline in my gut that told me to go for it.
I spent my year's salary to invest in materials (I was on local Indo wages but still, it's all relative). Half of these materials then got ruined due to the climate and Indonesian Customs. I was broke and had to borrow money to pay for my health insurance at 26 years old (thanks mum). At the time I was the only one on the island trying this type of art; there was nobody to ask for advice, there were no art stores, not even a factory that sold the right type of wood. The closest city was a 1.5 hour drive (one way) and had very limited options. I can't tell you how many times I tried to explain what I wanted to create and had confused locals laugh at me. So in the end I had to import everything from overseas, and it took 9 MONTHS to arrive because the unpaved 'road' I lived on didn't have a street name.
I wasted hundreds of £££ experimenting with this medium to find the techniques and textures that I wanted to achieve.
I accidentally covered our bedroom floor in resin. I almost set our wooden house on fire. Ant and I drove around for 5 hours once to find wood so I could build my own panels.
Whilst working 3 jobs, I still found the time to surf and create. Like I said in my previous post; if people want something badly enough, they'll find a way to get it.
I am just so grateful for the encouragement, support and for everyone who has to put up with my sticky mess.❤🙏

Smoosh:3 - this one’s for @malize.mirthe , because she urged me to post more of my sketches.
I actually have a pack full of a4 sheets with sketches, gestures, life drawings and all that stuff. But most of it is really crappy and it feels very personal to post online. But maybe I‘ll post some of it••
