Quietness and solitude: Initially, we resist it. Thoughts overwhelm us, we hear our inner critic more loudly than when we are distracted and busy. We question our decisions. We feel unproductive. 🌩
Then, after a bit of time, something happens. Our ideas crystallize. Wisdom passes through us into everyday conversation. We bump into someone more insightful than we had imagined, and realize it’s us. ✨
I’ve spent the past week holed up in our Connecticut apartment, doing some work and reading, and letting my thoughts run the gamut. I’ve come to love this quietness. How about you?
PS: I published my guide to the Canadian Rockies on the blog! ☝🏼

Found out yesterday that there are now 50,000 of you following along on my journey, and I appreciate all of your support so much. It continues to blow my mind that I have a little community on here, filled with like minded people out there doing what they love. I hope my account inspires you to get outside and enjoy this beautiful planet we call home. So thank you for sticking around and I hope you all get to have a little adventure this summer (and beyond) 💛

When I was a freshman in a midwestern high school I sat in an uninteresting online music theory class. Under the not so watchful eye of my teacher I spent most of the time on google earth, looking at mountains, the Swiss Alps in particular. With my cursor I spent many hours zooming in on lakes and sharp peaks. Switzerland captured my full imagination. I wondered if I’d ever be able to see it in person. Just days ago I stood on the top of Switzerland thinking about how I got there. All the things that played into this moment. It’s impossible to wrap my head around it all, life’s pretty crazy..
