I love ensemble work. I love putting work in dancers and I love seeing how they understand and embody character and narrative. When I work in that space, I often downplay the costumes and jewelry to give a different voice to the dance. But the #bharatanatyamdancer in me will never stop loving to dress up in full #costume. 😋It feels freeing and transformational and magical. ❤️💃🏽 Photo by Amitava Sarkar of @nadhidances

Eight choreographers take the stage (amongst other spaces) for 8x8x8 at The Uptown to bring you an evening of wild and witty dances. Enjoy a drink, your friends and a deliciously diverse array of dances by the project’s most prestigious line up to date. This performance marks the event’s 10th anniversary. For ten years now, 8x8x8 has been bringing the raw physicality and urban intelligence of contemporary dance out of the theater into spaces where avid and new dance-goers alike can convene and experience the creative power of some of the Bay Area’s best and most daring choreographic voices.
