This disaster horror film is directed by Alexander Aja and stars Kaya Scoldelario as Haley who comes to pick up her dad from their family home during a Category 5 hurricane but find themselves trapped in their crawlspace while being hunted by alligators.
This film was a blast to watch filled with great suspense, terrors and acting performances by Scoldelario and Barry Pepper.
The setting taking place in a crawlspace during a hurricane is a refreshing take that helps builds a great amount of suspense and scares. The even though the sets looks like its build on a soundstage, but it’s still appears very impressive and well crafted especially coming from a small budget.
It’s also impressing that the filmmakers make the alligators look more frightening and intimidating like they’re a silent-killers creepy through the shadows and water. Most notably, violence from an alligator attack appeared gorey and intense proving they’re not to be messed with.
Both Scaldelario and Pepper pulls off their best performances as daughter and father as their characters has good development on their backstory and relationship that we care for them and want them to survive the dangerous situation.
I do appreciate that the writers and director were trying to make this film serious and less tongue- and-cheek while putting some good dramatic and sentimental moments for the two main characters that’s meaningful to help build their strength to fight off the alligators to make it out of alive. Some are great character moments, but they don’t have to go for an extra mile to have them say something powerful like Pepper’s character Dave calling his daughter an apex predator to make her feel stronger which does come off cheesy.
Overall, this is one of the best creature feature film of this year and probably the best featuring an alligator. With a right amount of scares, intensity and character development really makes this film a one hell of a good time. I’m gonna give this film a “color drawing.”

This action comedy film is directed by Michael Dowser and It’s about an Uber driver named Stu played Kumail Nanjiani who picks up a LAPD detective named Vic played by Dave Bautista and unwillingly got him involve in a high profile case driving around Los Angeles.
This premise really looks promising as it looks like a fun action flick that’s fresh and new and while the film was a funny ride but the whole film is standard and generic.
First of I wanna praise the performances and chemistry of both Nanjiani and Bautista as they were made for each other. They brought their own comedic chemistry that’s both verbally and physically hilarious including their fight scene at the sporting goods store. They also confront each other’s personal issues such as Stu’s inability to man up and Vic’s toxic masculinity and neglecting his daughter which brought a deeper depth into their character.
There are some decent action scene that brought in the entertainment value either its unexpectedly shocking and intense but also comical. Although some of the shots gets a little too clunky that its incomprehensible.
Despite all this, I was disappointed over the film’s generic plot predictable and cliches as I wish they could’ve taken a full advantage of its concept and premise. The second most disappointing part of this film was Iko Uwais as the main villain as he looked he was going to be intimidating and over the top funny which it got all this but didn’t give him a lot to do which really takes away his talent
Overall, its still a good popcorn entertainment with some funny and action-packed moments but I wish it could’ve been something new and refreshing. I’m gonna give this film a “half-color drawing.”

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't posted on this account in so long;; I got discouraged after having this account for a while and not gaining any traction, but I realized that I just want to do this account for fun and post whatever I make for other people to see. :') I've been working on a lot of art too so I wanna post them now cuz I finally have better phone quality! :3 For right now I don't really have a style to my art so I'll be venturing into different techniques and it'll be really in consistent 😂 But that's part of finding yourself right? Anyways besides the long paragraph djckdjf, I drew this a couple of days ago and decided I wanted to share (even though its been a whole year since I've posted on this acc) ;w;
