Who thinks this is freeing?! •
•How beautiful to know that God can work through me, despite my limitations. In fact, he CHOOSES ME, he calls me, though he’s fully 100% aware of my shortcomings. •
Recently I won this little devotional in a giveaway (swipe right) and I loved this important take away. •
In “Waiting on the Lord,” @lightfilledhome breaks down the story of Moses and how he is a great example of this—
Remember Moses? So insecure. But God raised him up. God gave him power. God gave him purpose. •
And thank goodness Moses said yes to God, chose to follow, and obey!! •
Following Moses example today in my heart. #righteousnessrising 🙌❤️

Keeping up with my habits from #Famuary, I am going to volunteer at Nora's school, unplug completely for one day, call my grandma once a week, drink 64 oz of water every day, get outside with my kids once a week, and stay off my phone after teaching. My theme for February is Faithful February, so I will also find a church, read a devotional to my kids every night before bed, and only consume Christian media this month. I got some Christian books at the library so that can go toward my book goal too. I know we are halfway through February so here is my update: my daily habits are going well but my big goals are a little overwhelming. I’m not rushing things and am praying a lot for direction. Side question - do you have any favorite Christian podcasts or books I need to check out? #christianpodcast #christianbooks #faithful #faithfulfebruary #churchshopping

When salvation is reduced to a destination rather than an inheritance, we view the Gospel as what we are saved from, rather than what we are saved into-a family and what we have received- an un-shakeable Kingdom. Jesus said it’s the Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom... He trusts you, do you trust Him? “The glory of God is the human person fully alive” -Iranaeous of Lyons. #savingtheolderbrother #book #Jesus #christianbooks

"God had used an ordinary dove to bring a bit of hope in the midst of a great storm. And just like you, she did not need to catch up. She did not have to struggle to be heard, or feel desperate to be seen. Because, you see, she already was exactly who she needed to be."
May you go into this week knowing you are enough.
Your uniqueness and individuality is what makes you special.
He has made you just the way He wanted...with His Purpose in mind.
Speak to yourself with...
Though you may think you are "just ordinary"...
God uses the ordinary to do the EXTRAORDINARY!✨

#AuthorLifeMonth Day 17: Goals accomplished
A true story from this morning. Today we traveled to one of the other small towns out here in the cornfields. Which meant we attended a small parish this morning with people we've met at feast days, but don't really know. .
Toward the end of the service the 6yo (ish) boy in front us was getting squirmy (as kids do), so his grandma redirected him (as good grandma's do). She pointed him to the book box tucked under a table at the back. He scurried off and riffled through the assorted children's books until he picked one. .
It was my book, I Pray Today. .
He had no idea who I was, this was just the book that he chose all on his own. I couldn't quite stifle the huge smile as he plopped back right in front of me. He slowly leafed through the pages, running a finger slowly under the words. He hesitating on the long ones. .
When he got to the end, he passed it off to his younger sister, who flipped through examining pages. .
Such a small moment. And they had no idea that their choice would affect anyone else. My own 6yo had eyes shining a secret she couldn't wait to tell. But I did my own redirecting because it wasn't the time and because... well... It felt like a secret. A small choice on his part that means the world to me.
That's my goal accomplished. Publishing a book is a wonderful thing, but the small spark of joy in my young readers is the real accomplishment. .

QOTD: I want to talk about God. Tell me what He’s doing in your life right now 😊
I was thinking yesterday about how I’m a Christian but I don’t post regularly about the Lord. I know that I’m a bookstagrammer, but I’m still a Christian first. And since probably eighty percent of my close followers are professing Christians, I decided that I want to use Sundays as a “church gram” kind of thing 😆
Lately I’ve been learning a lot about God’s ability to know the future. I used to think that He allowed sin in the world because He gave us free will, but recently I’ve learned otherwise.
I’ve learned that when God created the world HE is the one who set the future in place. He knew everything that everyone was going to do, but not only knew it...He MAKES it happen. We do not have free will any more than we have the ability to decide when we die. God has already decided what we’re going to do and when we’re going to do it. He’s made vessels for honour and vessels for dishonor! 😱
Honestly at first this information was a bit disturbing to me. I thought “If it’s not about free will, then why would he allow sin and sadness?” My sources of information on this subject explained that He did it for his glory. Does light shine brighter in darkness or in the heat of the day? It shines brighter in the darkness. Therefore, His glory shines brightest in the darkness of this fallen world! ☺️ He is not unfeeling. He is not sadistic. He’s not like Apollo who wants glory even though he doesn’t deserve it.
He deserves the glory and that is why He desires it. That is why He commands us to glorify Him.
For real I could go on and on about this subject, but I’ve already ranted so much that I’ve probably lost you all by now 😂 I’ll try to keep my Sunday posts short, but tbh when I talk about the Lord I usually have a lot to say 😁 Have a lovely day, all! God bless 🖤

“If we were both in perfect health, tomorrow still wouldn’t be promised. Years and years together wouldn’t be guaranteed. We don’t know how long of a ‘lifetime’ God will give you or me. But wow, what if we intentionally make the most of every day we receive.” Hidden Blessings by Kim Cash Tate
Such an amazing and beautiful love story. This book is about a love like no other. Kendra was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Loses her job, and fiancé, and moves back into her fathers home. But what she thought would be the worst thing ever turned out to be the greatest blessing. She found love, true love at that and she found God. Be intentional and make the most out of every day.

“And whether we share it on Facebook or over a cup of coffee, every one of us adds to and shapes the culture around us, the culture that we then live in.” Hannah Anderson in “All That’s Good”

We walk by faith, and not by sight. That doesn’t mean we become oblivious to the things around us. We don’t just ignore the things we see. Instead, we just go beyond what we can see. .
Hebrews 11 is the faith “Hall of Fame.” Men, women, Jews, Gentiles, named, and countless scores of unnamed people are mentioned in this chapter. They walked by faith. They pleased God. And it was counted unto them as righteousness. .
That’s what faith does. Faith allows us to step out of the realm of the impossible and into the possible. It’s the only way - faith in Jesus - to find favor with God. Faith gets us into the boat, but it also calls us to walk out on the water - where Jesus is!
With men, some things are possible, even if they are improbable. Some things. But with God, all things are possible. We just have to have faith. We have to believe that He truly is God. We have to diligently seek Him, with our whole heart. .
It’s the only way to please Him. .

Read: Numbers 36 “Here is what Adonai has ordered concerning the daughters of Zelophehad: ‘Let them be married to whomever they think best, but they must marry only into a family from their father’s tribe.’” (Numbers 36:6 CJSB) *
This is not societal control and the oppression of women. God would never behave in such a way. God is offering revelation, as the opportunity to choose within the confines of perfect Authoring is put before these very in-tune ladies. Humanity’s definition of freedom says the daughters of Zelophehad should be able to find their own husbands via paths based solely upon each woman’s heart’s affections. This is not so wrong, but these women were empowered daughters—first of God most high, and second of Zelophehad—who knew God’s higher purpose. Deep in those beautiful hearts that were leading transformed minds, these ladies knew God had purposed for each of them perfect flesh of flesh and perfect bone of bone. God would never oppress them. God knew, and they knew, the direction God was pointing them was not pre-arranged marriages of patriarchal control, but to God’s divine Authoring of their everlasting lives. To these ladies, it wasn’t, nor ever will be, “Til death do us part.” These everlasting ladies saw their lives perfectly housed within the eternal God. Whomever they thought best would be the best, because the daughters of Zelophehad were led by the Spirit of the Living God. You see, decisions are not really decisions after all. Decisions are surrenderings to God’s revelations to be realized.

“Deep, radical transformation does not take place overnight. It is a slow process, requiring time for healing, waiting, listening, watching, resting and recovery. Like a pruned tree, our souls need this time. Staying in place, especially when we’d rather be moving forward or climbing upward, is a difficult but necessary part of deep soul work. Most of us are probably more comfortable with the ‘make it happen’ mode, rather than the ‘do anything’ mode. But we can’t rush through the staying and waiting in order to hurry on to growth and transformation.” 🍁

Surely the pressure to follow the crowd is a very real thing during the times of apostle Paul. After all, the mob gave its majority vote to send Jesus to the cross. It does not get easier in our era either. Our broken world is in every sense seeking to contradict or eradicate the word of God. We see values of the opposite side such as violence, sexual immorality, deceit, in all ways reflected in movies, encouraged in video games, and justified in social norms. To go counter-culture, Paul suggests to dilute the world in our head with the word of God. We face rejections and ridicule if we are not like them, but we ought to please God and not man. Today if you have the wisdom to discern that things are sourly wrong in your marketplace, families, and schools, then also know that God in His grace will give you the power to do the right thing. Someday we will find that it is okay to stand out differently from the crowd when we cross the finishing line.
