It's already Wednesday but I am Pooped!
Emotionally and physically exhausted.
Having my son away for a week is taking it's toll on my heart.
My body hurts because of my workouts. It's not a bad hurt. It's just muscles I don't always use tightening and aching a bit.
Most of all I just feel sad today. Sometimes when I get overwhelmed I slip into depression. I can feel it happening now before it gets bad and stop the spiral.
So today on my mid week rest day I decided to literally rest. I had a nap. Now I'm waiting for my daughter to be finished camp.
I sit in my car listening to the tree frogs and smelling horses and the barn. Fresh air and trees blowing in the wind.
We all need a center. Nature is mine.

After all of the drama and emotion had stabilized, she sat down and rested. Sleep did not come - her body wasn’t the one that was tired. Her spirit could not stop yawning, stretching, and looking for the turmoil to slow and allow her to settle into herself again. It will not be a fast process - her soul is a bit lost and not like funny, in the grocery store, trying to find the damn pickles lost, but numb to where she’s supposed to go or what she’s supposed to do. ————————————————————She reached down and brushed aside the leaves covering the stone wall where she sat. A little uncomfortable, maybe, but it worked for what she needed. With her head bent and eyes closed, she breathed in the smell of earth, always there, always stable. Her hand crossed something wet and soft. She tilted her head and saw a shock of green between the stones. Moss, velvety and comforting, with the brightest hue of life she had seen these days. A subtle reminder that persistence, not aggressive action, but the steady, consistent refusal to die, can be the lifeblood one needs to bloom where they are planted, regardless of the environment. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• ✍🏻 and 📸 : @thedoctorrobyn #outdoorphotography #naturephotography #mossphotography #summerphotography #northcarolinaphotographer #calmingnature #nurtureyoursoul #inspiration #spilledink #writersofinstagram #youarestrong #knowyoursoul #nurturelove #cultivatelove #growthroughit #strengthinvulnerability #beautyinimperfection #writerscommunity #writer #madewords

Somtimes you just have to stop, take a moment and put your feet in the water. Connecting with nature makes you ‘whole’ again. It helps you ‘be’ in the moment. Helps you realize that your health is important. Nature is about balance. We should be about balance, too.
