Race day 🏃♀️ While the boys could not join us due to a little boy who has come down with a little bug, the girls went and ran their hearts out this morning.
Em ran hard. She had a blast. And loved getting her face painted! Thank you John Deere for making the event family friendly!
As for me, I went into today’s race with a “bucket list” goal - run a sub 25 minute 5K. This is a goal I have always had in the back of my head. It’s been a goal that I have always said “I will hit it someday.” TODAY was the day!! 🙌
24:32 - 7:53 pace. What?! I never dreamed I would say I ran a race lacing at sub 8 minute miles. It was tough. I pushed hard. But I mentally told myself I could do this, instead of “wow this is fast there is no way I can hit this goal”. Honestly, over the past 10 months I have become a stronger runner by incorporating strength training and focus on nutrition. Of course, with those changes most would be stronger at their goals. But for me, this change has been more... Joining this community has filled my bucket in more ways than I ever imagined.
Personal gains- physically, mentally and spiritually stronger, self confident, seeing physical results, achieving goals that I used to say someday to, gaining a group of ladies who support me, cheer me on and walk along side me working in their personal gains. And the list...it could keep going.
Mentality of “I can do this!”
Nutrition changes that for the family life.
Commitment to working out most days because I want to - not because I am forced to.
