By Mayo Clinic Staff, After reading the article by Mayo Clinic Staff I compared the information of "...healthy eating options." to healthy work environments. In the article by "Mayo Clinic," it shares so much insight on "food pyramid." What is the comparison to "food pyramid" and a workplace pyramid? A safety pyramid is a business's menu of identifying the hazards, walking through the steps to identify with photos, written plan, and reviewing with all employees a job safety analysis and safety goal.
In work safety, a business, must identify what processes may deplete or create a dangerous situation whereas foods are identified by the positive or negative nutritional benefit A safety pyramid is the life application where management should embody the thought process, "would I allow my significant, daughter, son, etc. to complete this task with this equipment, at this location, this way, alone without help, in a rush, without me helping?" Management must believe in the safety pyramid as a necessity for all business operations. This value must be applied, by management, to embrace in their heart and mind so that employees WILL conduct a task with the correct equipment, with applicative training, with a competent co-worker alongside, with management involvement (working alongside department by department), meeting with employees to receive feedback on corrective measures and job safety analysis, reporting near-miss situations, requesting upper management to meet with employees to share their insight and experience (this will create an inclusive environment), replacing old equipment with innovative equipment, training supervisors on human relations to improve professional ethics. Food and Safety have much in common on the are of identifying what is best and what is not beneficial for health. Thank you for reading. ~Sonia. https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/nutrition-and-healthy-eating/in-depth/healthy-eating-plan/art-20044905?pg=2 #eathealthy #worksafe #workeat #management #humanethics #innovation #agsafety #safeag #agriculture #jobsafetyanalysis #roundtabletalk #eliteattitude #morale #attitude_matters #safeinvestment

#MaxFact: Oakland Museum Features Year-long Exhibit on Local Urban Farmers | Until January 2019, the #Oakland Museum of California will host “Take Root: Oakland Grows Food.” The exhibit highlights local urban farmers and their challenges and motivations to educate #museum visitors of how, where, and why food is grown in the city. “We want people to come away with a greater awareness of what it takes to grow food,” says Kelly McKinley, the museum’s deputy director.
The exhibit features interactive displays such as a drawing table, a photo contribution wall, felt vegetables kids can “plant” in pretend planters, video interviews with growers, video footage of insect pests, and a map showing the city’s food deserts and the lead levels in local soil. “There are some hard-hitting topics in the exhibit, but another piece for us is inspiration,” McKinley says. “We want people to feel inspired to maybe grow strawberries in their yard or start their own garden.” For more information, visit museumca.org. — via eastbaytimes.com
