A love so big we had to put it into perspective.

We can never pass up the opportunity to share an epic Yosemite view! 🍂

Climbed a mountain and I sat down. 🏔🏕 Spent the weekend seeing a ghost town, sitting in hot springs, walking among 5,000-year-old trees, and not showering for four days🏜🏔🐻

Well Yosemite hasn't changed at all in two years. Hell, they still have the delicious soy chorizo. Only thing that is better is a tour of the classics with a good friend.
Gotten up to hiking Half Dome, a sketchy first ascent? After Seven (which is amazing), and the classic Camp 4 dues of sleeping in line.
Here's to another few weeks of Valley fun

I got to go hiking near #yosemite and I LOVED it! I kept up with Mommy and her friend, and stayed right by them even off the leash.

They say the outer world is a reflection of our inner self;
but my eyes see this same beauty when I look at the people I love.

I'm leaving Yosemite a little earlier than I had planned on but the time is right. It doesn't matter how long I stick it out here: there will still be a long list of things I want to get done that I didn't.
Not knowing anyone in the Valley when I first rolled in made for a challenging introduction but the community and friends I eventually found more than made up for it.
This was exemplified one day at Separate Reality - all kinds of familiar faces from the past several weeks, and a few new ones, just kept dropping in over the lip and the party just kept getting bigger. How many stoked monkeys can you fit on one ledge?? Probably about 15 comfortably it turns out, but there's always room for more.
That day's stoke is one of those things that keeps me coming back to climbing and is not something I've really found anywhere else. Instant friends, shared experiences, good times in high places.
The Valley has treated me so well but it's time to move on. Desert bound and the backs of my hands ain't ready. 🐒

Yosemite national park.... just wow! The smoke cleared so we managed to squeeze in one day here, it was very rushed, we drove to all of the main sights but didn't get to do any hiking, but at least we got to see this place.
Again the pictures don't do it justice, the scale is incredible.

Got this view 4 weeks ago -- When I was a kid, my step-dad had an Ansel Adams art print framed and hung on the wall at home. "Yosemite and the Range of Light". A beautiful shot of Yosemite Valley with Half Dome sitting prominently in the distance. I LOVED this photo. Ansel Adams' work was my first photography inspiration. Yosemite seemed like a far off land back then but every time I saw that photo I wanted to go there. I HAD to go there. Last month I finally did. Yosemite was everything I hoped it would be and more. Yosemite is awe-inspiring, and I understand why the John Muirs of the world dedicated themselves to conserving the land. Bre and I hiked the Mist and John Muir trails and I summited Half Dome standing more than 4700ft above the valley floor. It was incredible.

We had planned to have 3 nights and 2 days in and around yosemite. Sadly due to the briceburg fire yosemite was pretty smokey for the first 2 days. We stayed around tahoe for an extra few days. When we had almost given up the smoke cleared and we stoped off on the way to Santa Barbara. Really glad we could cram all this in. Meant I had to drive 440miles in 1 day and set off at 5am but it was worth it!! We drove down from tahoe via tioga pass, I would really recommend if anyone plans a trip.

I title this one "Reading the morning adventure paper", featuring Frankie D and the high Sierras.
I've wondered, what can I do now to provide equanimity in later years?
Heck, I don't know how I'll feel when I'm an old prune, but I'll stay sendy long as I can! I think I'll get a lot of satisfaction from existing memories, but memories don't feel quite like the present, so I'm just gonna fatten up the memory books and gnar binders as much as I can till I'm burnt toast. That's the current plan. Stay tuned.
