super novel warning!
incredibly inspiring @outlawed.deputy shared a story about this topic already, but i also have to put in my two cents just for the sake of this community. i'm going to be completely honest here and i hope not to hurt anyone's feelings, peace.
i've seen many people being unmotivated lately and what i've noticed, it's mostly because of the ig numbers; likes, followers, engagement rate... you name it.
i get it, we're on social media and it's kinda natural to stare at the analytics. everyone has different goals and someone may be wanting a huge amount of followers, which is okay. but why though? what do you actually gain from all those 5000 followers when most of them are ghosts anyway?
only when such number staring kills your creativity, it's starting to be a problem. a huge one. it's so sad that people lose their motivation to do things because of the others. "oh, i can't share this picture because nobody is going to douple tap it". who tf cares? if you like it yourself, share it. be proud of your work, embrace it. you're not a lamb who needs a herdsman to show the path.
this community is a wonderful one and it unites us. i don't want any stupid numbers to kill it, we shouldn't compete or feel bad. vp should be a happy thing. we are here to share our creativity and passion with each other - that's such a precious thing in this world we truly have to fight for.
relax, have fun, make friends. create, experiment and every time you take a shot, do it slightly better than the last time. appreciate all the people who actually love and support your work and be grateful for everything they already do for you. be kind and love back.
don't give a fuck about the analytics. screw the numbers and keep doing you. 🖤
