1 week ago We’ve just received these beautiful handmade curry pastes in from @churchfarmgeneralstore in Billinudgel, NSW. Made on their farm using produce grown by them (or neighbouring farms). Not often you come across a curry paste produced by a farm that grows their own ginger, galangal, turmeric and lemongrass (among other things). Truly special and undeniably delicious. 1 week ago Beautiful images take by @linseyrendell of the Pink Lake Salt harvest with @mountzeroolives in Dimboola, Western Victoria. In partnership with local Aboriginal peoples, the salt is harvested each year over a two week period before the rains set in, harvesting only what they need so as to ensure sustainability and longevity of the harvest. This beautiful salt—“the best salt in the world”—is available from our online store, link in profile. 2 weeks ago Buerre Bosc Pears grown and beautifully packed by Greenwood Biodynamic Orchards in Merrigum, Goulbourn Valley. Many of our pears come from their farm over the season; including Packham, Red D’Anjou, Red Sensation, Williams and Josephine Clapps. The Greenwood’s are an important family in the Bio-dynamic farming community, having converted their farm in 1964 to Biodynamics under the guidance of Alex Podolinsky. Since 1987, the Greenwood’s have hosted the annual BD Australia conference at their farm, and we’ve heard the food (and wine) at this gathering of bio-dynamic farmers is amazing. Of course it is!

3 weeks ago Romanesco, the sweet and crunchy cousin of the cauliflower, can be used in much the same way. We’re looking to Nigella’s simple recipe of blanched and lightly fried Romanesco in olive oil, seasoned with rosemary, garlic, lemon and served with pecorino.
