3 months ago What’s everyone’s favorite screen? Switchgrass? Norway spruce? Hybrid Sorghum? Miscanthus? Streamco Willow? For us, it really depends on what we’re screening! We just posted a New YouTube video on a new screen we constructed! (Link in profile) In this scenario we needed to screen off a section of our property immediately from a neighbor who likes to take joy rides up and down the property line with his ATV about an hour before sunset. Not an ideal situation for anyone trying to hunt a hundred yards away but with a thick enough screen, the local deer will soon recognize which side of “the wall” they are safe on. Because we needed this screen in place right away we decided hinge cutting was the best solution. Hinging trees along the property border quickly cut down the sight lines from the neighboring field. We can expect tremendous regrowth not only from the hinged trees that are still very much alive but also from everything else in existing seed bed that is now being hit with direct sunlight. Within a year this section will be completely blocked off.
